Karin Birch and Lisa Louise Sheirer will be the first two residents of the new AIR Studio Program at the Y Art Center. Birch and Sheirer were individually invited to occupy studios 1 and 2 on the second floor of the Y Art Center due to their significant body of work, artistic professionalism and high sense of community values, aka warmth of spirit. Rula Jones and the Y Art Center in Downtown Frederick, MD are absolutely thrilled to work with them to coordinate open studios, micro-gallery exhibitions and two workshops for over the course of the year. They begin their residency on October 1st, 2021 and will coordinate their first open studio / micro-gallery event to coincide with First Saturday NOVEMBER and the opening reception for WHIMSY.
